I'm not "umqua". There is some idiot commenter on SFGate that uses the nick "umqua". This person is not me. I had a bit of a double take when I saw a comment on the SFGate homepage. I thought someone else had started using my nick, but it was just very close. Unfortunately the caliber of their comments/trolling is so low, that I felt the need to post this clarification. |

All AT&T Phone are $0.01 - Today Only! If you have an AT&T phone and want to upgrade (or want to jump ship), then today's your day. All AT&T cellphones (except for the iPhone) are a PENNY on Amazon today. If you already have service, you just have to agree to a 2 year extension. I'm not planning on changing any time soon, so what the hell. I picked up a BlackBerry 8310 Curve Titanium. Total charge: 1 cent. And after the $75 rebate, I'll be *making* 74.99 on this deal. |

Wanderlust My brother and his wife left for Thailand (again) last night. For some reason being able to say that makes me happy. Of course this also means that we're tied. Him: Canada, England, Denmark, Thailand (2) Me: Canada, Germany, Austria, Japan, Indonesia. Of course I can tip the scales if we add US states to the count. |

Thank You Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and offers of support. It means a great deal to us all. Cary wrote a very eloquent eulogy on Lori's blog. Now all we can do is assist Cary in finding his new path through life. |

No yard sale this weekend The yard sale we were going to have this weekend is canceled. We're in Sacramento right now visiting my brother-in-law (Cary) and his wife (Lori). As some of you know Lori has cancer and unfortunately she's taken a few turns for the worst recently. Please send your good wishes and positive energies over to Sacramento. Cary and Lori can really use them right now. |

NYC Bride Sues Florist Over Flower ColorThe wedding was lovely, except for the flowers: They were the wrong color.
So says the bride, Elana Glatt, who was so upset that she sued the florist and alleged breach of contract.
<SNIP> The flowers cost $27,435.14. --------------------- Her flowers were over $17,000 more expensive than our entire wedding. I don't understand people. |

Connectivity If there's an area in the US where you really need to have reliable cell phone service, it'd be along the I-90 in South Dakota and Wyoming. Where does AT&T Wireless not have any service? You guessed it. |
